Biocartis and Discovery Life Sciences launched a strategic collaboration to provide faster precision oncology biomarker testing and clinical trial assay support. The deal combines Discovery’s clinical lab network and biorepository access with Biocartis’ Idylla PCR-based platform designed to generate results in about three hours. The partnership targets companion diagnostic and trial enrollment constraints by enabling harmonized biomarker outputs across geographies, with an initial focus on replicating Discovery’s rapid KRAS testing program at Discovery sites in Germany and Pennsylvania. Both parties said the move is intended to accelerate companion diagnostic development and reduce time-to-patient allocation for molecularly defined trials. For sponsors running global oncology studies, the operational goal is comparability of results across the US and EU, with faster turnaround supporting site performance during recruitment.
