Researchers reported that elevated expression of TMEM150C and F2R is significantly associated with refractory response to standard 7+3 induction therapy in acute myeloid leukemia across two large cohorts. The associations were supported by independent patient validation and cell-line experiments. If further prospectively validated, the biomarkers could support earlier risk stratification before induction outcomes are known, potentially informing trial enrollment and treatment intensification. The study also underscores the need to standardize assays and demonstrate clinical utility—especially for translating gene expression signals into actionable decisions.
