BioMarin struck a deal worth up to $475 million to secure worldwide rights to HM15421/GC1134A, an enzyme replacement therapy designed for Fabry disease and delivered as a subcutaneous injection. The candidate—also referred to as LA-GLA—combines Hanmi’s long-acting drug technology with GC Biopharma’s enzyme replacement therapy expertise to extend how long the recombinant alpha-galactosidase A remains in the body. BioMarin will hold worldwide rights, while GC and Hanmi retain commercialization rights in Korea and responsibility for regulatory approval activities. GC and Hanmi are jointly eligible for further development and commercial milestones that could total $405 million, with tiered royalties on net sales. The program is in a Phase I/II trial (NCT06858397), and the delivery method is positioned as the differentiator versus conventional intravenous ERT dosing every two weeks.
