McKesson signed a definitive agreement to acquire Precision Medicine Group for about $2.25 billion in an all-cash transaction, aiming to expand clinical research and biopharma commercialization services. Precision Medicine Group, which supports drug development across biomarker intelligence, lab services, clinical trial management, market access consulting, and commercialization support, is expected to move into McKesson’s Oncology & Multispecialty segment after closing. The acquisition is designed to strengthen trial execution capabilities and improve how biopharma partners move programs from discovery through market launch and patient delivery. McKesson described the move as part of an oncology and multispecialty strategy to deepen end-to-end support. Precision Medicine Group’s leadership said the deal brings complementary capabilities to enhance customers’ development and commercialization workflows. The transaction remains subject to regulatory clearances, but the size and scope of the purchase signal continued consolidation in life sciences services as biopharma teams seek integrated partner support.
