Biomanufacturing innovation focused on both productivity and analytical standardization. SynGenSys introduced CHO.SET 2.0 synthetic promoters to improve protein production in CHO cells, reporting over 4x higher antibody productivity and titers above 2 g/L in simplified fed-batch models. On the quality analytics side, USP and Alphalyse presented an ICH Q2(R2)-aligned approach for qualifying host cell protein (HCP) analysis by LC–MS/MS using a cross-platform spike-in standard. The work aimed to reduce variability across labs and instruments by anchoring HCP quantitation to a consistently sourced reference material characterized across multiple host cell systems. These efforts target a common pain point for biologics scale-up—reproducibility across both manufacturing and measurement systems.
