Genomic Medicine Sweden and the Hartwig Medical Foundation announced a strategic partnership to implement whole-genome sequencing and precision oncology in routine cancer care. The agreement targets clinical implementation of WGS as a default diagnostic tool for adults with acute leukemia and includes validation and rollout of Hartwig’s OncoAnalyser pipeline for hematological malignancies. The partners also plan to benchmark and expand WGS in selected solid tumors while harmonizing genomic and clinical data models to enable federated analyses. The aim is to support cross-dataset research without moving sensitive data across jurisdictions. For biotech and diagnostics, the move signals a practical shift toward operationalizing WGS—integrating assay pipelines, evidence frameworks, and governance models into standard workflows rather than limiting sequencing to research-only settings.
