Alumis reported a setback for its TYK2 inhibitor envudeucitinib in a Phase 2b systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) study, failing to achieve efficacy goals in the overall Lumus trial population. Management pointed to a prespecified IFNGS-high subgroup where response curves separated, and said it plans to push into Phase 3 in that genetically defined population. In parallel, Novartis disclosed Phase 3 wins for remibrutinib, its BTK inhibitor for relapsing multiple sclerosis. The company said the pill was superior to teriflunomide on annualized relapse rates and reduced inflammatory brain lesions in two large studies, with disability progress effects reported and liver safety described as comparable to a long-standing comparator.
