Medicines Discovery Catapult (MDC) funded two U.K. biotech efforts for chronic diseases, awarding £500,000 each under an Innovate UK-linked scheme. Flip Therapeutics received support for in vivo T-cell reprogramming aimed at conditions including psoriasis and alopecia areata. Nascent Therapeutics, a University of East Anglia spinout, received parallel funding focused on mitochondrial biology approaches for neurodegenerative diseases and other age-related conditions. MDC said it will add translational drug discovery expertise and advisor access to complement the investment. For U.K. programs, the grants underline how translational infrastructure is being positioned to de-risk payload validation and delivery integration before larger clinical commitments.
