Takara Bio and Resistomap strengthened their partnership to develop high-throughput antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance products from environmental samples. The SmartChip Biosecurity Platform combines Takara’s SmartChip ND real-time PCR system with Resistomap environmental intelligence software, targeting rapid quantification across thousands of assay data points. The platform is designed to run complex environmental AMR panels in about three hours, with SmartChip ND described as supporting 5,184 data points per run—aimed at improving both scale and gene-level resolution for surveillance and reporting. The collaboration signals continued investment in lab automation and data platforms that can translate environmental qPCR outputs into decision-ready AMR intelligence for public health and industry monitoring.
