Pillar Biosciences said it will contribute its oncoReveal Essential+ next-generation sequencing assay to a Japan-based liquid biopsy screening partnership for non–small cell lung cancer. The program will profile cell-free DNA (cfDNA) and cell-free RNA (cfRNA) from about 2,000 Japanese patients over two years within the LC-SCRUM-Asia network. LSI Medience will perform the testing after validating the assay, while the broader network—led by Japan’s National Cancer Center Hospital East—includes medical institutions, diagnostic laboratories, and pharmaceutical partners. Pillar Biosciences positioned the approach as a way to advance biomarker-driven therapy selection. The collaboration focuses on operational scaling for precision oncology using paired cfDNA/cfRNA profiling, supporting patient identification for emerging clinical and treatment pathways in lung cancer.
