Jazz Pharmaceuticals entered a preclinical collaboration with AbCellera to discover and develop next-generation T-cell engaging multispecific antibodies for gastrointestinal cancers and other solid tumors. The agreement centers on AbCellera’s antibody discovery engine delivering candidates across two initial programs, with an option commitment for a third within 12 months. Terms include $56 million in total upfront payments for the first two programs and an additional $28 million due when the third program starts, alongside eligibility for up to $792 million per program through option fees and later development, regulatory, and commercial milestones. Jazz received exclusive options to develop and commercialize resulting therapeutic antibodies, while AbCellera is expected to earn tiered royalties on net sales. The collaboration is structured to let Jazz evaluate early data before committing to full development. For the broader oncology market, the deal reinforces continued industrial focus on T-cell engager approaches beyond checkpoint inhibitors, with GI malignancies as a specific initial focus area.
