Ginkgo Datapoints and Apheris announced the founding members of an Antibody Developability Consortium designed to predict antibody manufacturability and developability risks earlier in development. The consortium aims to build a standardized, ML-ready dataset by aggregating proprietary antibody sequencing across founding pharma partners. The founding members include AbbVie,argenx, Lundbeck and Takeda, with the goal of reaching 10,000 antibodies in the dataset. The partners plan to contribute proprietary sequences while using federated infrastructure to keep participant data private. The stated objective is to reduce development delays caused by manufacturability liabilities—especially in complex therapeutic areas such as CNS—by improving candidate selection earlier and tightening feedback loops from developability outcomes into discovery.
