Icon announced a multi-year collaboration with Anthropic aimed at deploying Claude across clinical trials and trial intelligence workflows. The partnership is designed to improve site intelligence and study planning by integrating Anthropic’s Life Sciences research capabilities into Icon’s Orbis platform and tools such as OneSearch and OnePlan. Icon said the collaboration will enable scenario modeling and earlier detection of enrollment risks, while also embedding clinical knowledge into sponsor systems. Anthropic’s Claude deployment is also planned across Icon teams and developer-facing “Claude Code.” The deal comes amid heightened scrutiny of AI usage in healthcare workflows, highlighting how CROs are operationalizing AI to reduce execution bottlenecks like enrollment—while trying to maintain regulatory credibility through human oversight and validation.
