Insilico Medicine reported an exploratory analysis suggesting rentosertib—an AI-designed inhibitor being studied for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis—reduced protein-based biological-age clock estimates by as much as six years compared with placebo in a subset analysis of 42 patients. Findings were published in Nature Biotechnology and were strongest around four weeks. The analysis used six independent proteomic aging clocks measuring shifts across thousands of blood proteins. Investigators cautioned the results do not prove clinical rejuvenation or long-term outcomes; the signal was less pronounced by week 12, even as some underlying protein changes persisted.
