A new analysis in biomedical literature reports that AI-assisted writing signatures are increasingly common in PubMed Central–archived publications. Researchers led by Dmitry Kobak (Ghent University) used word-frequency patterns linked to large language models and found the share of papers showing such signatures rising from 52% in 2024 to 77% across 2025, nearing 90% by December 2025, with strongest signals in discussion sections.
