Biocartis and Discovery Life Sciences announced a strategic collaboration aimed at accelerating precision oncology companion diagnostic execution using Biocartis’ Idylla PCR-based platform. The companies said they will install Idylla at Discovery’s Kassel, Germany and Newtown, Pennsylvania sites to enable rapid biomarker results in about three hours and harmonized testing across the US and EU. The partnership is designed to improve patient identification and enrollment speed for global oncology trials by reducing diagnostic turnaround time, including for prospective and banked biospecimens. Discovery said the first priority is replicating a rapid KRAS testing program from Kassel at the Pennsylvania facility to support clinical comparability. Biocartis said the collaboration will cover companion diagnostic and clinical trial assay support, custom assay development, and co-promotion activities with pharmaceutical customers.
